Children have a unique role in God’s kingdom and at Plymouth Congregational Church. They are more than future adults: in their present they are beloved and complete children of God. They have as much to teach us about faith as adults. Plymouth Church strives to foster healthy families and seeks to include children fully in the life of the church.
Nursery
Young children are always welcome in our sanctuary during worship, but for those who desire it, a professionally staffed nursery is available. Children 3 and under can join us in the sanctuary, or be dropped off in the nursery before worship. Children 3 and up are invited to begin worship in the sanctuary, and come forward for the Children’s message.
Sunday School
Helping children grow in their faith and understand their Christian tradition is a passion of Plymouth Church. During the school year, after the children’s message the children are invited to Sunday School for singing, Scripture lessons, activities and more, all geared specifically for different age groups. Children are always welcome to stay in worship with adults. During the summer months, children 5 and under are invited to the nursery and older kids are encouraged to join in worship. No matter what, from babies to seniors, all ages are welcome at all times.
Safe Church
Plymouth Church is committed to being a safe space for people of all ages, and has adopted a responsible code of conduct called our “Safe Church Policy.” It has special measures to protect children, including background checks for all nursery and Sunday School volunteers.
