Children’s Ministries

Children have a unique role in God’s kingdom and at Plymouth Congregational Church. They are more than future adults: in their present they are beloved and complete children of God. They have as much to teach us about faith as adults. Plymouth Church strives to foster healthy families and seeks to include children fully in the life of the church.

Nursery School

Right now we worship both online and in-person, and babies and toddlers bless our Zoom feed with cuteness and questions. We look forward to a day after the pandemic when safe and loving nursery care will again be available every Sunday. In the mean time, you are welcome to bring your baby or toddler into the sanctuary with you, or worship with us online. Our nursery care, when offered, is provided by a regular, paid caregiver and accompanied by volunteers adhering to our Safe Church Policy, and all volunteers are vaccinated.

Sunday School

Helping children grow in their faith and understand their Christian tradition is a passion of Plymouth Church. During the pandemic we will be offering an outdoor, all-ages “one room Schoolhouse” for elementary and middle schoolers. This will include a Bible story, activity, craft or game. In bad weather, we will use our social hall with two large air purifiers, and require masks and social distancing similar to school standards. Children are invited to begin worship in the sanctuary, and leave worship service after the Children’s message. All volunteers will be fully vaccinated. If you have questions or concerns, please reach out to us!

Safe Church

Plymouth Church is committed to being a safe space for people of all ages, and has adopted a responsible code of conduct called our “Safe Church Policy.” It has special measures to protect children, including background checks for all nursery and Sunday School volunteers. We are also making sure all volunteers with children are fully vaccinated and follow the church’s COVID guidelines.
