Fellowship

At Plymouth, fellowship is a vital part of our shared experience. Whether it be during planned events or informal conversations, fellowship provides a foundation for growth, connections, and belonging. Our scheduled fellowship activities are planned by church members and staff to provide a variety of group settings for work, play, sharing food, music, service, learning, or just enjoying one another’s company. We are most grateful to all the members of the congregation and staff who contribute in planning and carrying out coffee hours, lunches, and fellowship events such as the following.

  • Many folks participate in regular informal inter-generational Fellowship Walks, usually on Saturday afternoons during the fall, winter, and spring. Walkers enjoyed several local open spaces including Beaver Brook Reservation, Rock Meadow, Arlington Reservoir and Mt. Auburn Cemetery.
  • Another regular gathering is Food for Thought: weekday lunch time events, often with inspiring presentations.
  • For families with young children, we have conducted “Kids Night In” events where parents can have an evening off while children enjoy supervised dinner, crafts, games, and a movie or service project. These typically were co-hosted with Payson Park, alternating church locations.
  • During the week before Halloween, we typically have an inter-generational Pumpkin Glow evening with pumpkin carving, games, and a custom parade.
  • Other typical special fellowship events include intergenerational Games Night Potlucks with board games and card games; luncheons and games for children on Children’s Sunday and Welcome Sunday; joining other Belmont Religious Council congregations at Belmont Serves day in October; working with the Music Committee on refreshment gatherings after musical concerts; and Christmas Caroling in December.

We are blessed with many members and staff who have helped out with fellowship in big ways and small each year including decorating our facilities seasonally, setting up for events, volunteering to help with events, putting away tables and chairs, and providing assistance with children and youth activities consistent with our Safe Church policy.

All are welcome! Come and join us. Check out the Plymouth calendar for upcoming events.
